Thames Valley Park holds Summer Festival for Staff

Thames Valley Park celebrate sustainability achievements with exciting summer event.

On Thursday 25th August from 11am – 2pm Thames Valley Park will be putting on celebration for staff at the business park. There are many great things to have a pat on the back about but this shindig is in aid of our sustainability achievements. What we have achieved as a park and what the people who work her have helped to do is something truly incredible.

The event will be held on the water meadow next to the river - you won’t miss our giant marquee. Inside there will be a range of exciting suppliers to see and tasty treats to indulge in.

In the spirit of sustainability we have some of our incredible partners coming along with information and activities for you to try including; electric bikes to test out and an interactive cycling experience which will take you around a virtual velodrome. Readybike will also be on hand to discuss the scheme and give staff access to discounted travel on bikes. Not one for cycling? BMW and Tesla are also in the mix bringing along a range of their hybrid and electric cars. You will have the chance to have a look at these impressive cars and even arrange a test drive at a more convenient time.

We will also be joined by the team from Brighter Horizons Waterside Nursery who will be on hand to talk about all things preschool. As well as general information the team will be demonstrating what kinds of fun and healthy activities they deliver with the children each day. The David Lloyd club team will also be present to showcase what great facilities and activities they provide.

Sounds like thirsty work all that excitement? Well we have just the ticket with our smoothie bar. You can pick your choice if ingredients to go into a refreshing juice drink – only catch is to mix it up you have to blend by cycling on a smoothie bike! A fun way of earning that tasty beverage. As this is a lunchtime event to we know attendees will be bringing their appetite, so we are providing 250 free lunches from the much loved Street Food Kitchen airstream. The menu is made up of just good, honest ingredients all grown and gathered in the UK and cooked for you freshly at our event. To get your name down for a delicious dish you must sign up online There is a choice of a meat, fish and veg dish so lots of options to suit our guests.

As well as a chance to celebrate  what we have done so far in way of sustainability we are also looking forward to the future. Wokingham Borough Council will be in attendance to get you all signed up to the upcoming Commuter Challenge for September. The team will have lost of information to hand and can talk through how you can get involved come September.

So grab a colleague and come to the water meadow on the 25th.
