East Reading to launch brand new bus, pedestrian and cycle route with many added benefits.
This week East Reading will launch their brand new bus, pedestrian and cycle route. The new MRT scheme will provide a number of key benefits to commuters from a significant improvement in public transport between Reading and Wokingham to an expected relief in traffic congestion allowing for improved air quality throughout East Reading. The scheme will encourage sustainable economic growth by promoting public transport usage and reducing car trips whilst also promoting healthy living with the new walking and cycle routes, providing ecological enhancements and opportunities for recreation uses along the way.
The Reading Borough Council team are inviting residents and business’ to drop by this Tuesday 19th July from 1pm – 7pm at Wokingham Waterside Centre - Thames Valley Park Drive, Earley, RG6 1PQ to ask any questions about the scheme proposals and learn a bit more about the future of travel here in Reading.
Information on the scheme will be on display at Reading Borough Council’s offices in Bridge Street and online at www.reading.gov.uk/east-reading-mrt following the exhibition until Tuesday 16th August 2016.
